Freeney returns to Colts practice

NDIANAPOLIS (AP)—Colts defensive end Dwight Freeney(notes) returned to practice Thursday and cornerback Kelvin Hayden(notes) worked out for the second straight day, meaning both could play Sunday against Tennessee.
Freeney missed last week’s game with an abdominal injury. Hayden has missed four straight games with a knee injury.
Indy had 23 players on its practice report, and seven missed both practice days.
Two players out were receiver Anthony Gonzalez(notes), who hasn’t played since the season-opener, and kicker Adam Vinatieri(notes), who has missed the last six games.
Other key players who sat out both days include running back Donald Brown(notes) (chest), defensive tackle Keyunta Dawson(notes) (knee) and left tackle Charlie Johnson(notes) (foot).
